The first thing you’ll notice when you walk into CrossFit Sacramento is that it does not look like your “typical gym”. The space is open. No rows and rows of workout machines that you have to wind your way through. You’ll see a three lane sprinting track, pull up bars, rowing machines, lifting racks with bumper plates, kettlebells, all sorts of medicine balls and gymnastic rings and a climbing rope.
The space doesn’t look typical because we don’t train in the typical body building fashion. We train CrossFit – and that means the magic comes from complex, functional, multi-joint movements and not isolation movements using machines. Seeing as how the human body adapts specifically to the stresses put on it, it follows that large complex motions create the largest stresses and the largest physiological responses.
Form follows function. Less is more.
